assumed the Chair of the Board of County Commissioners.

advised this item was being pulled from this agenda and added to the July 21, 2015, agenda for the Board of County Commissioners in Pahrump. July 13, 2015

Commissioner Schinhofen

made a motion to terminate the one and retain the other; seconded by Commissioner Cox. Amy Nelson said she did some research as no one had any information on the attorneys and came up with a recent article on the Gordon Silver firm that she gave Pam Webster a copy of. Ms. Nelson knew Mr. Silver’s son left the firm and went into Garman Turner and Gordon. It could be he had the original records from the bankruptcy, but they were not open to audits, which Ms. Nelson felt raised concer n about puffing too much money into that area. She had talked to other people who felt the same and were really not comfortable with it. Ms. Nelson wanted to voice the opinion that no one wanted to go forward with giving them mote money with no end in sight.

Commissioner Carbone

explained the County was hiring them because the person that originally did the bankruptcy, Talitha, was the one who got all the history and she was the one that moved to the new organization. Pam Webster said her name was Talitha Gray. Angela Bello stated for the record that the District Attorney consented to the retenti on of the services of Garman Turner and Gordon as representatives of the County in the handling of the Chapter 11 bankruptcy case of Primecare.

Commissioner Schinhofen

stated he heard a lot of the same concerns, but the people up north voted themselves a tax to support and help this project. If it failed the tax was still in place and the County could recoup its money. Commissioner Schinhofen said that would be explained more next week.

Commissioner Cox

asked Mrs. Webster if the retaining of the attorney would come out of the other $500,000.00 that went to the hospital.

Mrs. Webster

said no and that they were two separate items. She further advise d this was not a retainer per se where payment was made upfront for someone’s service s. It was as used.
