asked about the mining.

Mrs. Webster

said that it was around $2.1 million and had been projected just under that. However, since nothing would be received this year it was her recommendation when it returned in future years to use that money for debt service rather in the budget. thought those would just go on another agenda. Pam Webster explained it could be put on another agenda but it was meaningless as today was the deadline to augment and an augmentation could not be done in July. Angela Bello asked if a resolution could be passed as a corrective action.

Commissioner Carbone

said he was just putting it on the record as required.

Commissioner Wichman

said the Board knew something had to be done and even though it was not going to get in the audit in time, it should still be on an agenda to be done as soon as possible.

Mrs. Webster

stated this was for FY16 and today was the last day to augment any funds in compliance with the NRS. She said putting it on a future agenda would do nothing as the audited financials would be prepared based on the action taken today. The budget could not be augmented after today. June 30, 2016 7. felt that by not taking any corrective action and provid ing documentation of the same the County would be in trouble for the same thing it was in trouble for before.

Mrs. Webster

advised this came to light after posting the agenda. An admin istrative transfer was required as part of the interpretation of handling the public safety sales tax money and there was no vehicle to get it on the agenda based on the advice of the District Attorney.

Commissioner Cox

if an amendment to the 2016 budget could be on the next agenda .

Mrs. Webster

repeated there was nothing that could be done and explained the funds at issue were monies spent in FY16 that had to now be distributed out to the towns. The towns did not make provisions for a budget augmentation for that because when the money was spent it was properly budgeted under the consolidated fund. Mrs. Webster added it was not an error on anyone’s part. It was merely an administrative adjustm ent that had to be made.

Commissioner Wichman

asked when Mrs. Webster was informed that it had to be done differently.

Mrs. Webster

responded Tuesday and said it was just something that would be explained and handled as part of the audited financials.

Commissioner Cox

wondered if it could be an emergency item.

Mrs. Webster

said the District Attorney advised action could not be taken after the posting of the agenda and it did not qualify as an emergency.
