would like us to follow-up with the DA regarding the Diesel Tax and maybe bring it back to the Board of County Commissioners for reconsideration. He also directed Tom Bolling to meet with each Commissioner to inform them of the benefits and the balancing of the taxes. Right now, its lopsided, only those that buy gasoline are taxed and those that buy diesel are not and everyone who drives should be paying taxes. He would also like to discuss the prevailing wage at the next meeting. He feels it has a detrimental effect on us.

Mr. Bolling

stated that the DA was putting a rush on reviewing the diesel tax, but it would not have made the deadline to be on the agenda so there’s no longer a rush. Tom will bring it back to the BOCC when the DA has finished their review. Pearl from the Town of Round Mountain stated that she would like someone to take a look at the roads in Round Mountain/Carvers area specifically by Shoshone Market. motion to approve the minutes, Jabbour second. Approved. FOR POSSIBLE ACTION DISCUSSION AND DELIBERATION REGARDING THE PURCHASE OF A DURAPATCHER OR AN ALTERNATE PIECE OF EQUIPMENT: Tom Bolling stated that we did a lot of research on Dura-patchers. He also looked into hot patching equipment. Pages 1-6 are hot patching trucks and trailers. He thinks these would work in our area just fine, but it is a slower process for filling holes. The next few pages are Dura-patching trucks. They are made so a driver can run the operation by them self with an attenuator truck behind them. Currently it takes 5 guys to fill potholes.

Mr. Koenig

stated that he really likes the truck. Commissioner Blundo stated that we should go with a Dura-patcher. Mr. Bolling stated that he also wants to look in to how easily we can get parts for repair. Commissioner Jabbour stated that the public has seen this pothole filling process in the past and he would like to see a comparison of the old way vs. the new way, i.e., cost and time.

made a motion to move forward with the cost to purchase a new Dura- patcher with the preference being the truck mounted piece of equipment. Commissioner Jabbour seconded. FOR POSSIBLE ACTION DISCUSSION AND DELIBERATION REGARDING A FIGURE 8 ROUNDABOUT AT THE INTERSECTION OF GAMEBIRD AND PAHRUMP VALLEY BLVD FOR ALIGNMENT PURPOSES:

sated the back-up is a figure 8 roundabout that is located in Las Vegas.

Mr. Bolling

stated that we only have an 80’ ROW in that area and the figure 8 will take up less space. Commissioner Blundo would like to see a mockup of this at the intersection.

Commissioner Jabbour

stated that he is not a fan of roundabouts. Commissioner Blundo stated that he has no jurisdiction for signage on the highway roundabouts but the ones on our roads should have signage on how to use them.

made a motion for the Public Works Director to bring back a conceptual drawing and cost estimates for engineering. Commissioner Jabbour second.

also asked that Mr. Bolling get a blueprint copy of this specific roundabout. UPDATE from Public Works Director of current and upcoming Projects: See Attached update.

Commissioner Blundo

stated that we are having some ROW issues with a homeowner on Blagg and would like for Mr. Bolling to drive by there with the members of this board. Mr. Bolling stated that there are a few different options for obtaining and removing those items in the ROW. asked about the guardrails vs. the culvert pipe. Mr. Bolling stated that the pipe is available and has been ordered. It is RCP concrete pipe. ACTION: set time and Date for next Meeting:
