will discuss items being addressed with the state legislature particularly as they relate to Nye County. Greg Dann plans on attending the session in Las Vegas on August 5th and may also attend in Tonopah on August 7th. Oz Wichman plans on attending in Tonopah and would like to address the over-appropriation of water in the Lower Smoky Valley. John MacLaughlin informed the public that there may be a quorum of Water Board members in attendance at some of the sessions, but no decisions will be made at that time. It was noted that because Mr. King has focused so much time on the Pahrump Valley, he would like to hear comments from the other areas of Nye County as well.

suggested adopting a resolution to set the policy. He then noted that staff would bring back a draft Fee Schedule specific to the Water District at the next meeting for the Board’s review and recommendation. John Bosta did not agree with setting a fee schedule. He also felt that meeting information posted on the county website was inadequate. Pam Webster related that the website has been experiencing some difficulties and all information should be back on line for public viewing very soon. Darrell Lacy felt that it can be very time consuming to collect information that is not readily available, such as finding emails and correspondence from various sources.

presented the updated sheets showing ending fund balances from June 30, 2014. She felt that some of the figures regarding encumbrances need to be updated and the ending balance will change accordingly. A final updated pre-audit balance sheet will be presented at a future meeting. Numbers for FY15 are not yet available. Allocations for various accounts can be adjusted anytime as needed. . b. Board Reports I. LVVWD/SNWA – Darrell Lacy . Darrell Lacy related that water levels in Lake Mead continue to fall and that the third “straw” is nearing completion. Continuing decline of lake levels may determine the future for importation of water from northern Nevada. There is a new treaty with Mexico pending that may create an opportunity to purchase water from that country. c. Staff Reports: I. Darrell Lacy Having approved the operation of several medical marijuana facilities in Nye County, the BOCC has requested that the Water District do water analysis studies for each facility before licensing can be approved under the Special Use Permit process. At the next Board meeting there will be a discussion regarding what types information will be necessary in order to do perform a thorough analysis. II. Oz Wichman

discussed problems of the Shoshone Estates water system which is currently operating as a co-op. It is the last water system in the state that is not compliant with current arsenic level standards. They are currently looking into finding funding sources, possibly a loan, in order to correct the problem. Point of use treatment seems to be the most affordable way to correct the problem at this point. Mr. Wichman suggested that the Water District may want to provide some financial assistance. Marty, with Day Engineering, is looking into federal grants that may be available to help with the problem. III. Levi Kryder

related that the recently purchased water modeling software was installed and is now able to run the water model created by Glorieta Geoscience. Scenarios can be run as needed. Also, the Water Supply Appraisal Investigation Report is still under review by the Bureau of Reclamation and no further action is required by staff at this time. The grant expires at the end of September. Oz Wichman related that there are new people wanting to participate in the Volunteer Domestic Well Monitoring Program and staff will be working to have those meters installed very soon. d.
