Rucker pointed out that Nye County does have some part time employees that receive benefits, but it all depends on the type of work done, how it was negotiated and how they came into the position. Water District Governing Board Member William Knecht stated that in his past employment experience, anyone that works a minimum of 32 hours is considered benefits eligible. When hours regularly fall below that 50% of the time, they lose those benefits. Water District Governing Board Member Walt Kuver made a motion to advertise and fill the Nye County Water District Administrative Assistant position. William Knecht seconded the motion. The vote passed 7-0. Water District Governing Board Member William Knecht made a motion to provide Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits to the Administrative Assistant position. Walt Kuver seconded the motion. The vote passed 7-0. Water District Governing Board Chairman Dave Hall stated that the position of Administrative Assistant warrants the Medical Benefits package due to the nature of her duties to work independently and the knowledge required for the position. Oz thanked the Board for the passing vote, to grant the Medical Benefits package and added that it has been of great concern to him for some time.
