The resolution will authorize the General Manager or designee to coordinate with DRI and support the study through data sharing and collaboration. (00:45:52) FOR POSSIBLE ACTION - Discussion and deliberation with possible direction to staff to develop a brief report on the progress made by the Nye County Planning Department to approve the construction of a medical glove manufacturing facility in Pahrump Nevada. Nye County Commissioner John Koenig mentioned the process of manufacturing medical gloves and that such a facility would need to be regulated by the State of Nevada. He also stated that the company had apparently not yet reached out to the state at that time. Nye County resident Maryann Hollis stated that she supported the request for a staff report on the project. Nye County resident Linda Clark stated that only one person she has spoken with supported the project and that the environmental concerns were too high of a risk to the groundwater. Nye County resident Dwight Lilly spoke against the project and stated that he felt the project should have been rejected by the Planning Department from the outset. (01:06:12) FOR POSSIBLE ACTION ~ Discussion and possible action to establish a committee comprised of two (2) members of the Nye County Water District Governing Board, the District's General Manager and selected community residents. The purpose of the working group is to identify and evaluate challenges associated with undevelopable “Zombie Lots” in the Pahrump area and to develop a proposed course of action to address these issues. The committee will report its findings and recommendations to the Nye County Board of County Commissioners at a future meeting. Nye County resident Patricia Robb thanked the board for discussing the matter of utility challenged lots. She also mentioned new technologies being developed that allow water to be generated directly from the atmosphere and stated that she supported the idea of a committee meeting. Nye County resident Linda Clark stated she felt for the owners of utility challenged lots.
